and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension,
shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
You know how when you're reading your Bible, and a word just jumps out at you. My word was "complacency". "the complacency of fools will destroy them" (Proverbs 1) In my struggle to live a health-filled life, I was getting so discouraged at my day after day failure. I kept trying to figure out why I couldn't make this lifestyle change. Then, this word "shouts' out at me. I looked it up for the exact meaning - "self-satisfaction, unawareness of dangers". There was my reason. I was walking in complacency in just about every area of my life. Indulging in my wants and not taking seriously the dangers of not taking care of myself, spiritually and physically. The opposite of complacency is "humbleness, humility, modesty. Interesting, It made sense to me. I was living a life of "self-satisfaction". Complacent about the dangers of not taking care of myself, body, soul and spirit.
Someone said, "Always first draw fresh breaths
after outbursts of vanity and complacency".
Time to humbly take a deep fresh breath and start over.
But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father, who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
For it is not an idle Word to you
indeed it is your life.
And by this Word
you shall prolong your days
in the land which
you are about to cross
to Jordan to possess.

...let it be the hidden person of the heart,
with the imperishable quality of a
gentle and quiet spirit,
which is precious in the sight of God.
1 Peter 3
Whatever things were written in the past
were written for our learning,
so that through endurance and the
encouragement of the Scriptures
we might have hope.

She works with her hands in delight. (willingly)
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she smiles at the future.
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.
For our citizenship is in heaven,
from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ.
