Vessel for honorable use

Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house,ready for every good work.

2 Timothy 2

Aroma of Christ

But thanks be to God,

who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession,

and through us spreads the fragrance

of the knowledge of him everywhere.

For we are the aroma of Christ to God

among those who are being saved
and among those who are perishing,

 to one a fragrance from death to death,

to the other a fragrance from life to life.

2 Corinthians 2 ESV

Straight Path

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord

with all your heart and mind and do not rely

on your own insight or understanding.

  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him,

and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Come Under the Fountain

Come Under the Fountain

come under the fountain

the flow never ends

come under the fountain

let new life begin

are you empty and

in a desert alone?

has the world that you love

left you with nothing to hold?

come under the fountain

the flow never ends

come under the fountain

let new life begin

where has the love gone

is your cry day and night

your longings have left you

in a world without light.

come under the fountain

the flow never ends

come under the fountain

let new life begin

lift your cup high

to be filled once again

let love overwhelm you

come drink without end.

For everything there is a season

For everything there is a season,

and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3 ESV

keep oneself unstained

Birds bathing
bath time!!

If anyone thinks he is religious and does not

bridle his tongue but deceives his heart,

this person’s religion is worthless.

Religion that is pure and undefiled before

God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and

widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself

 unstained from the world.

James 1

Thanksgiving to God

Caden's sunflowers

He who supplies seed to the sower and

bread for food will supply and multiply

your seed for sowing and increase the harvest

of your righteousness.  You will be enriched in

every way to be generous in every way,

which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

For the ministry of this service is not only

supplying the needs of the saints but

is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

1 Corinthians 9

Grace Sufficient

Gracee sufficient

But he said to me,

"My grace is sufficient for you,

for my power is made perfect in weakness.

"Therefore I will boast all the more gladly

of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ

may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ,

then, I am content with weaknesses,

insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.

For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12

Love is...

Love is patient and kind;

love does not envy or boast;

it is not arrogant or rude.

It does not insist on its own way;

it is not irritable or resentful;

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,

but rejoices with the truth.

Love bears all things, believes all things,

hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13

The Word of Truth

And take not the Word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
   for my hope is in your Word.
I will keep your Word continually,
   forever and ever.  Psalm 119

When you hope in and Keep His Word continually,

He will continue to put His words in your mouth

and on  your tongue.   I call it 'Faith Talk'

"The Spirit of the Lord spoke to me,

and His Word was on my tongue."

 2 Samuel 23

 I appeal to you therefore, brothers,

 by the mercies of God, to present your bodies

as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,

which is your spiritual worship.

 Do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewal of

your mind, that by testing you may discern

what is the will of God, what is good

and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12

The teaching of Christ

Everyone who goes on ahead and does not

abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God.

Whoever abides in the teaching has

both the Father and the Son.

2 John  ESV

Hmm, I don't believe this Word from Holy Scriptures was talked about

in the "interfaith" memorial service in NYC today.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son,

that whoever believes in Him

should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16  ESV

I am the way, and the truth, and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6  ESV

to be content

Not that I am speaking of being in need,

for I have learned in whatever situation

I am to be content. I know how to be brought low,

and I know how to abound. In any and every

circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing

plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4

Hold fast to the hope

(Edmonds, Washington)

So when God desired to show more

convincingly to the heirs of the promise

the unchangeable character of his purpose,

he guaranteed it with an oath,

so that by two unchangeable things,

in which it is impossible for God to lie,

we who have fled for refuge

might have strong encouragement

to hold fast to the hope set before us.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,

a hope that enters into the inner place

behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone

as a forerunner on our behalf,

 having become a high priest forever

after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6 ESV

my oh my. now those are some amazing promises.

we truly can hold fast to them.

His Way

Turn to me and be gracious to me,

as is your way with those who love Your name.

Psalm 119:132   ESV

God's Way, His manner of doing, doesn't waver - one day this, one day that. No. He's the unchangeable One in all He does. He never changes.
