“Hark the herald angels sing” Christmas Carol

was written by Charles Wesley, brother of

John Wesley founder of the Methodist church, in 1739

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

such a love and affection

old butter press

I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers,

because I hear of your love and of the faith

that you have toward the Lord Jesus

and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing

of your faith may become effective

for the full knowledge of every good thing

that is in us for the sake of Christ.

For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love,

my brother, because the hearts of the saints

 have been refreshed through you.

Philemon 1

hmmmm, I was trying to think if I have someone in my

life I could write something like this to.

...hmmmmmm....such love and affection

the Word of God

Let us therefore strive to enter that rest,

so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

For the word of God is living and active,

sharper than any two-edged sword,

piercing to the division of soul and of spirit,

of joints and of marrow, and discerning

the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

And no creature is hidden from his sight,

but all are naked and exposed to the

eyes of him to whom we must give account.

wintering in Bend, OR

This is pretty much what I do with variations depending on what works for that particular photo.

I use PSE9. I always make a duplicate copy of my background layer. I then use one of the layers in the layer panel: Multiply, soft light, hard light, overlay, screen. I play with the opacity on whichever one i use.  My next step is using one of the filters. I like the artistic filters the best. Again, adjusting it until i like it.  Then, comes the textures. This one is from Bonnie's collection (one of my favorites!): Winter Wonderland. I like to use the lighting effects in the flters also. There is quite a variety of choices with this feature. I just play with different ones til I find just the right one!. I hope you enjoy my little bird friends enjoying a little shelter and seeds.

Comfort me

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

who comforts us in all our affliction,

so that we may be able to comfort those

who are in any affliction, with the comfort

with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings,

so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

2 Corinthians 1

Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles

to abstain from the passions of the flesh,

which wage war against your soul.

Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable,

so that when they speak against you as evildoers,

they may see your good deeds and

glorify God on the day of visitation.

My "new technique" is from "How to Cheat in Photoshop Elements 9"..I used the chapter on 'Cut-up Collage'. This is the first time for me to try this. I started last night and worked for a long time on it then my PSE froze up and I lost it all. So doing it a 2nd time tonight was much easier. I just set up grids and then tilted them to my liking. I set a canvas size of 20%.  I used the Happy Day Texture. I'm sure I'll be using this technique again as it really is easy.

altar of stone

(stone 'altars' and photo by my sister and family)

Now Moses and the elders of Israel

commanded the people, saying,

"Keep the whole commandment that I command you today.

And on the day you cross over the Jordan

to the land that the LORD your God is giving you,

you shall set up large stones and plaster them with plaster.

And you shall write on them all the words

of this law, when you cross over to enter the land

that the LORD your God is giving you,

a land flowing with milk and honey,

as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

And when you have crossed over the Jordan,

you shall set up these stones, concerning which I

command you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall

plaster them with plaster. And there you shall

build an altar to the LORD your God,

an altar of stones. You shall wield no iron tool

on them; you shall build an altar to the

LORD your God of uncut stones.

And you shall offer burnt offerings on it

to the LORD your God
