Adversity...why are we so adverse to believe that God would allow
or give adversity in our lives...
when we choose our leaders...isn't it true that we might not always agree with their decision making, especially regarding our daily lives...but, we chose them..
we chose Him...He is our Sovereign Lord...
and most importantly,
He is good...in all circumstances...
"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver, don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you?
Who said anything about safe? 'course he isn't safe.
But he's good. He's the King, I tell you. C.S. Lewis
He says our afflictions are nothing compared to eternity...
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us
an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy
to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
we learn we change
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
1 Peter 5
now, who would you rather choose to get to know better?
hmmmm, how deep do you want to go?
you can stay on the surfacw where the air is abundant...
but, if you go deep where the real treasure is
your experience will be different
you have to be dependent (on your air tanks)
to seek what is worth seeking...
the deep...to understand "why bad things happen to good people"
(is there really any substance to that statement?)
you must give up your right to breathe fresh air,
and wholly go deep,
depending upon Him...
in Him we live and move and exist, (Acts 17)
you see, it's the fellowship
of His suffering
and the power
of His resurrection.
more than that...
I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing
value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3)
Why me God?
I am with you; that is all you need.
My power shows up best in weak people.
”Now I am glad to boast about how weak I am;
I am glad to be a living demonstration of Christ’s power,
instead of showing off my own power and abilities.
2 Corinthians 12
But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
That I may tell of all Your works.
